A bill of materials (BOM) is a comprehensive list of the raw materials, sub-assemblies, intermediate assemblies, sub-components, parts, and the quantities of each required to create a product, as well as instructions required for gathering and using the required materials. It can be understood as the recipe and shopping list for creating a final product. The bill of materials usually appears in a hierarchical format, with bottom level showing individual components and materials and the highest level displaying the finished product. The bill of materials explains what, how, and where to buy required materials, and includes instructions for how to assemble the product from the various parts ordered.Request for Quote(RFQ): What to provide?
Once you have completed your BOM, you are ready to move forward to request for quote(RFQ). A complete BOM should include essential items for PCB assemblers, including part number, manufacturer name, reference designator, quantity, description, case/package, SMT method, top/bottom, points/footprint, and BOM level.Why Us?
